Peer Review

Degenkolb engineers lead the development of many of the codes that govern how buildings are constructed, evaluated and rehabilitated for seismic safety. As a result, we are routinely hired to perform peer reviews for building owners who want assurance that the designs they receive are safe, complete, and cost-effective.

Plan Review

Our experts are jurisdiction experts. We work extensively to develop codes across the United States and bring that understanding to projects.

Tsunami Evacuation Research

Degenkolb is a leader in providing tsunami safety and developing resilient communities along the coasts of the Pacific Northwest. Over the past decade, we have worked with many coastal communities on tsunami evacuation projects, designing some of the country’s first tsunami evacuation structures.

Whether it’s developing new building code provisions to incorporate lessons learned from past earthquakes, leading a public workshop related to tsunami evacuation, or designing life-saving structures that will provide safety when an earthquake and tsunami strike, Degenkolb strives to provide leadership in our communities.

Value Engineering

Prices go up.  It is a fact of life.  And sometimes that means our projects need to be paired back.  We understand that is a difficult thing to do for stakeholders.  Our engineers look for value add recommendations that will help you have the conversations around budget cuts.  We look to preserve design intent while making the most out of every dollar.
